Groovy Gift Ideas

I can't tell you how many times people have asked if they can buy my record bowl I used as display at the market. So I decided I should make some to sell. But I couldn't bring myself to do the traditional melted wavy bowls that you heat in the oven. I didn't want to hear people say "I can do that." I want to hear people say "How did you do that?" Soooo.... I present to you, a smooth, hand made bowl, labels and hole sealed, ready for entertaining!

($20.00 available at the Capital City Public Market and other craft shows this season)

And because entertaining isn't complete without beverages, I have cut the label portion out of the records, backed them with reclaimed cork, and sealed them with shiny resin for fun coasters. Choose your favorites for a set to make a wonderful personal gift!

($6.00 each or 4 / $20.00 available at my booth at the Capital City Public Market and other craft shows this season)

the Big & the Little

Ahhhhh... this is why we all need to get out and see mother nature.

To appreciate the vastness.

And to observe something a bit smaller.

I've just returned from a trip through the Oregon mountains and out to the coast, and if you've never been through Oregon, you should add it to your list (if not for the natural beauty then at least for the delicious locally brewed beers and coffee!)

Awareness Month

October is national breast cancer awareness month. Just mention the word cancer and people will tell you stories. Sad stories, scary stories, and stories of hope and survival, courageous stories.
So I have created my own version of the awareness pin out of pink record vinyl. I gave some of these away at the Capitol City Public Market this spring during the Race For the Cure and I will be making more today to give out this Saturday as well.
